Latino Conservation Week: Community Conservation Day (Sept 12, 3–6 PM)

Bayard Public Library, will be hosting Community Conservation Day Activities for Latino Conservation Week this Friday, September 12 from 3 pm – 6 pm along with Amphibian and Reptile Conservancy, Silver City Watershed Keepers, The New Mexico Nature Conservancy, New Earth Project: New Mexico, Upper Gila Watershed Alliance, Gila Resources Information Project, and the Gila Native Plant Society. Activities will include: Conservation Crafts, Reptile/Amphibian table, Conservation Lotería, and Face-Painting and much more!

As part of Latino Conservation Week celebrations, a guided hike to Cherry Creek is being offered by many of the same organizations along with Latino Outdoors on Sunday, September 21 at 9:30 AM. Meet at the Convention Center at 9:30 am or at the Cherry Creek Campground at 10 am. Join hike leaders in looking for reptiles, amphibians, or any other animal or plant life and learn about trail construction and other conservation tactics from experienced conservation corps alumni!
